RICHARD C. ELLISON II

Master craftsman, artisan, master plumber, and vice president for
craft & design arts.
Architectural studies (1984-1985) at Univ. of North Carolina, Charlotte. This led to further investigations in craft & artisanship,
as influenced by the early 20 th century architect-craftsman, Bernard
Maybeck. Undertook studies at Penland School of Crafts in NC and
attended workshops in Georgia and Virginia given by the Timber Framing
Guild of North America.
Previous work experience: employed by a major science museum as
a craftsman and artisan in the design and building of detailed exhibits; also was employed in major commercial construction and renovation
projects and worked for a large plumbing company—which led to a
master plumber's license.*
